SD ISLAM AL-Azhar 12 Cikarang is a branch of YPI Al Azhar Kebayoran Baru Jakarta Selatan, which is the development of Al Azhar University in education in the district of Bekasi.

Founded in the 1995-1996 school year with SK. YPIA No. 109 / PH-YPIKep/1415- 1994 and Operating Permit from West Java Province Diknas No. 036/I02.1/Kep/OT/1999. At its inception, the SDIA 12 occupies office Perum Puspa Jababeka City Office Building, three years later moved to the Elite office Jl. New Cikarang Raya is still in the same complex. In the 2000-2001 school year began to occupy its own building at Jalan Raya Cikarang New Block 3B, until now.

SD ISLAM AL-Azhar 12 already accredited in the 2000-2001 school year is equated with the predicate accreditation.
